The Convento de las Carboneras was founded in the early 17th Century by the Marchioness of Castelar. Designed by Miguel de Soria, it belongs to the closed Hiermymite order. On the doorway is a relief of St Jerome and St Paula. The church has an altarpiece with sculptures by Anton de Morales. The convent is famous for its biscuits and cakes which it sells by means of a rotating drum, preserving its enclosure.
