The Palacio de El Pardo is a royal hunting lodge and palace near the village of El Pardo outside Madrid. The palace dates from the 16th Century and there is an 18th Century extension that is the work of Francisco Sabatini. Vistors can take a guided tour of part of the palace to admire the frescoes and many tapestries, some of which are the designs of Goya. There are also Spanish paintings. The area around the palace is popular for picnics.
