Built in the 1790s, this chapel dedicated to St Anthony is known for the remarkable frescoes painted by Goya. The dome is decorated with an immense fresco depicting St Anthony raising a murdered man from the dead so that he can prove the innocence of the saint`s father, who had been falsely accused of the murder. Goya died in 1828 in Bordeaux, and in 1919 his remains were brought back and buried beneath the chapel`s dome. A replica chapel has been built alongside for services, so that the original chapel can be a museum.
