The great painter and sculptor Joan Miro moved to Mallorca in the 1950s and, after he died in 1983, his former studio and gardens were converted into an art centre. The building was designed by architect Rafael Moneo. The collection of several thousand works includes sculptures and works on canvas and paper. In one room is a sketch for a mural in the UNESCO building in Paris that won the Guggenheim award. Miro`s original studio has been preserved and contains works in progress.
