Map
Gibralfaro Castle dates from the 8th Century when it was built by the Moors. It was rebuilt in the 14th and 15th centuries and used during the Civil War. The castle has been restored and it has a museum explaining the city`s development. There is a scale model of the fortress showing how it would have appeared when it was built. From the ramparts are great views. A wall, beside which there is a path, connects the castle with Alcazaba.
