The Castillo de los Guzman is a huge stronghold that was built on the site of a Roman fortress by the Moors. In the 15th Century it was rebuilt by the Count of Niebla as a palace and since then the walls have suffered damaged by an earthquake and also in the Peninsular War. Restoration has taken place and in the dungeon you can see a display of torture instruments. The castle also is a venue for dance and theatre productions.
