Orgiva is a small market town in the western area of Las Alpujarras. The Iglesia de Nuestra Senora de la Expectacion dates back to the 16th Century and it boasts two pointed towers. Inside, the church has a Baroque dome and cupola. There is also a Moorish watchtower nearby. The market is held in the upper part of the town and it sells everything from fruit and vegetables to local pottery, baskets and woven mats.
