The lavish King`s Fountain is an elegant, early 19th Century Baroque fountain with three pools. There are 139 spouts gushing water into the ornamented ponds. In the centre is a sculpture of Neptune`s chariots. Nearby are many fine mansions built for the 18th Century silk merchants. Niceto Alcala Zamora who became president of Spain in 1931 was born here.
