La Ruta del Carrilet is the former line of a narrow gauge railway that linked Olot with Girona. It has now been turned into a peaceful, 57 kilometre route for cyclists and passes alongside rivers and through valleys and woods. On the route are twelve villages where you can stop off for refreshments. At the start is a short, gentle climb to the El Coll d`en Bas at 558 metres then a descent to the Vall d`Hostales.
