Originally a parrot park, Loro Parque is now a large, award winning zoological park with thousands of palm trees, and there are gorillas, monkeys and jaguars as well as more than 300 species of parrots. Rare parrots are being studied for the purpose of conservation. The collection includes crocodiles, turtles, flamingos, penguins and a Bat Cave. The park also has a transparent aquarium tunnel from where you can watch sharks. There are also parrot and dolphin shows.
