The beach at Matalascanas is three miles long and composed of fine, pale sand. This is a family beach with lifeguards, bars and kiosks. Sea loungers and parasols are avalable to hire. The eastern end fringes the Coto Donana Natural Park which you are not allowed to enter, but you can walk along the beach, a good place for spotting many kinds of birds. At the western end of Matalascanas beach is an old defensive tower.
