On the Plaza de la Concepcion stands the attractive Church of the Concepcion Immaculada which was built in the 17th Century on the site of a former mosque. The building is in the Mozarabic style and has 17th Century paintings on some of its pillars. Nearby is a small, unusually shaped bullring with a museum. Mijas is seved by donkey taxis from the main square.
