The Monastery of San Salvador was once one of the most important monasteries in Spain. It was founded during the 10th Century but was later reuilt. One of its two lovely cloisters is in the Baroque style whilst the other is Renaissance. The Benedictine monastery has an enormous church with Gothic choir stalls and an elaborate altarpiece. In the monastery`s garden is the tiny 10th Century Mozarabic chapel of San Miguel.
