Moratalla is a pretty, medieval village lying at the foot of a ruined castle, and it is surrounded by beautiful countryside. From a viewing point near the fortress are wonderful views of the surrounding mountains. Tradition is very important in this tranquil village and during Holy Week Moratalla reverberates with the sound of drums made by the cloaked and hooded tambarados making their way through the streets.
