The private collection of Jose Lazaro Galdiano is housed in this splendid neo-Renaissance mansion. On display are a rich variety of objects as well as paintings. Many great artists are represented, including Goya, El Greco, Hiermymus Bosch, Constable and Gainsborough. Archaeological items, including a 7th Century Phoenician bronze jug, are exhibited, as well as silverware, Limoges enamels, coins, armour, religious artefacts and furniture. The house was bequeathed to the nation in 1948.
