The Museum of Navarre is the most important museum in Pamplona, and it is located on the site of the former Hospital of Nuestra Senora de la Misericordia. The museum houses archaeological, historical and art collections of the region. Exhibits include Roman mosaics, an 11th Century ivory casket carved in Cordoba and Romanesque capitals from the former 12th Century Pamplona cathedral. There is a large collection of Gothic wall paintings, as well as art from the 17th Century and onwards.
