The Museum of Spanish Contemporary Art is housed in a Renaissance building that was remodelled in the early 20th Century in the Modernista style. It contains the contemporary art collection of the wealthy Mallorcan banker Joan March. There are works by Picasso, Salvador Dali, Joan Miro, Antoni Tapies, Eduardo Chillida and Joan Gris. There are also works by lesser known artists. Paintings by Mallorcan artist Miquel Barcelo are on display and the museum holds temporary exhibitions.
