The Parish Church of Our Lady of the Assumption stands in a small square which has been named after the 17th Century Veracruz Hermitage. The church dates from the 16th Century and it is an impressive building of many different architectural styles, including Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque. The Baroque spire is visible for miles beyond the town. In the square there is also a monument to Jesus Casas, an artist whose work depicts local traditions.
