Oviedo Cathedral was built in the Flamboyant Gothic syle and occupies the site of earlier Romanesque churches. The south tower rises to almost 200 feet. Inside are three aisles, a 16th Century altarpiece and a chapel containing the tombs of the Asturian kings. The cathedral`s greatest treasure is the Camara Santa, a restored 9th Century chapel with statues of the Apostles and a superb collection of ancient gold, silver and precious stone artefacts. There is also an attractive Gothic cloister.
