Passeig des Born is a popular tree lined avenue where families take evening strolls. Fiestas and demonstrations have taken place here. It was built in the 19th Century on the bed of a river that had dried up. There are many pavement cafes and nearby is the Italianate building Ca`n Solleric. It was built for an olive oil merchant`s family in the mid 18th Century. In the 1990s it was converted into a modern art gallery.
