The Pearl Centre offers a factory tour explaining the manufacturing process of artificial pearls. Mallorca produces millions of artificial pearls a year. Glass beads are covered with a resinous liquid containing fish scales and then polished. Artificial pearls last longer than real pearls and are not easily distinguishable from the real thing, but are expensive. You can also visit the showroom and gift shop.
