The Santuario de la Peregrina is a pilgrim`s chapel on the pilgrim`s route from Portugal to Santiago de Compostela. Built in the late 18th Century, this unusual chapel is a mixture of Baroque and Neo-classical styles. It is unique because the plan of the ground floor is the shape of a scallop shell, the pilgrim`s symbol. The building is fairly narrow and it has an ornate portal with a drinking fountain nearby.
