Placa de la Miranda is a splendid viewpoint of the port of Mao. From the balcony views stretch to the end of the port at Colarsega where there are quays. Opposite, on the north side, is the naval base that was built by the English in the 18th Century. A procession of decorated boats starts from the naval station each year on 16 July to celebrate the feast of the Virgin of Carmen.
