In Placa Weyler are several Modernista buildings including the Gran Hotel which was opened in 1803. It was designed by architect Lluis Domenech i Muntaner and has beautiful balconies, columns and bay windows with polychrome ceramics. Inside is an art gallery with paintings by Hermen Anglada-Camarasa who is known for his paintings of Mallorca. The gallery is also a venue for temporary art exhibitions and there is a cafe. Another Modernista building in the square is the bakery Forn Des Teatre.
