Plasencia Cathedral consists of two buildings, the old and the new. The old cathedral dates from the 13th Century and it is in the Romanesque and early Gothic styles. The western facade belongs to the earliest time and there is a Gothic cloister. Dating from the 15th Century, the new cathedral is in the Gothic style with high vaulted ceilings. Not to be missed are the carvings and paintings on the main reredos and the flamboyant choir stalls.
