Platja Gran is a long beach of golden sand that stretches for over a mile. Platja d`Aro was originally a fishing village, but it has now grown into a popular resort. The beach is quietest at its southern end whilst to the north are some beautiful coves. There are opportunities for water sports and windsurfing, as well as activities for children. A water park is nearby and helicopter and balloon rides are popular. The resort is also well-known for its nightlife.
