Playa Grande is a wide, sandy beach alongside Avenida de las Playas in Puerto Del Carmen. It is backed by black lava cliffs with steps to a promenade with palm trees and gardens. Across the road are restaurants, bars and shops. Puerto Del Carmen is Lanzarote`s main resort and it has three miles of beaches. Just over a mile from the town centre, along Avenida de la Playas, is the less crowded beach of Playa de los Pocillos.
