Plaza de Chueca is named after the light opera composer Federico Chueca who lived at the end of the 19th Century. One of his works is La Gran Villa. There are shops and bars around the square and on one side is the Bodega de Angel Sierra, a traditional tavern which has hardly changed at all since it was founded in 1897. On its outside are advertisement tiles for beers and wines. A few streets away is the interesting Baroque Church of Santa Barbara.
