The Poble Espanyol is a purpose built tourist attraction composed of a village with typical architecture from all over Spain. It was constructed in the mid 1950s and the buildings are exact reproductions of actual buildings and monuments such as Seville`s Torre del Oro, the Alhambra in Granada, the Plaza Mayor in Salamanca and El Greco`s house in Toledo. The village has a reproduction of a medieval wall and there are also craft workshops, souvenir shops and restaurants.
