Poio Monastery was founded in the 7th Century and it became an important centre for culture in Galacia. You can see objects from the Romanesque monastery in the Orange Tree Cloister. There are also works of art and in the monastery there is a hall devoted to the works of the Czech artist Anton Machourek. Other exhibits are in the library and amongst these are drawings by Castelao and ceramics.
