The El Museu Camarcal contains an important collection of paintings from the Olot Art School. It is housed in an 18th Century Neo-classical hospice designed by Ventura Rodriguez. The Olot landscape painters were known for their dark volcanic colours. You can see works of rural life by Joaquim Vayreda and sculptures by Josep Clara and Leonci Quera. The museum also contains displays about Olot`s traditional industry. This includes the manufacture of sculptures of saints and also textiles.
