Santa Agueda is Menorca`s third highest hill and on its summit are ruins of a fortress. Originally built by the Romans, the stronghold was rebuilt by the Moors, then taken by the troops of Alfonso 111 in 1287. Located a few miles north of Ferreries, the 264 metres high summit is less than one hour`s walk from the nearest road. The climb is well worth the effort for the extensive, glorious views of the northern coast of Menorca.
