Sineu is located at the centre of the island and every Wednesday a large country market takes place in this agricultural town. There is a livestock market as well as stalls selling lace, pearls, leather, pottery and baskets. In the church square fruit, vegetables and flowers are sold. It is best to arrive early to savour the atmosphere of this traditional market. In front of the large parish church is a statue of a winged lion in honour of St Mark.
