Marbella has many miles of beaches and most of them have lifeguards, showers and other facilities. Near the port is the half-mile long Playa de la Badajila which is suitable for water sports. At El Faro Beach, which has fine golden sand, there are games for children. Close to the centre, Playa de Venus is a busy beach with black sand. The quietest beaches are those to the west.
