The Madrid Stock Exchange was established in 1831 and, after being housed in many different buildings, it moved to its present location in 1893. This purpose built headquarters was designed by Enrique Maria Repulles y Varges. It has a Neo-classical facade and the main entrance boasts six huge columns. Visitors can watch the proceedings on the trading floor from the Salon de los Pasos Perdidos. Exhibitions are sometimes held here.
