The Valdecarzana Palace is a magnificent Baroque building which was the home of the Marquess of Valdecarzana in the 17th Century. Later on the Mayor Antonio Heredia Velarde lived here and built the facade that faces the square. There is a large shield bearing the Heredia coat of arms with the figure of Hercules. Scallops and faces decorate the galleries and inside are Tuscan columns. During the early 20th Century the building was a casino but nowadays it is the home of the High Court of Asturias.
