Cofete is a tiny village near the southern end of the Jandia Peninsula and this remote place is a good starting point for walks into the mountains. There is a long, sandy beach about a mile away but it is very windy and is dangerous for swimming. Nearby is the villa of Herr Gustave Winter. He built the house before World War 11 on land given to him by General Franco.
