Housed in an Italianate villa in Parc Nou, the Volcano Museum explores the history and geology of the Garrotxa region. Volcanoes have occurred in the area for hundreds of thousands of years. The last one was about 10,000 years ago and during the 15th Century an earthquake shook the city. In the museum you can experience an earthquake simulator.
