The Museo Arqueologico is housed in a neo-Renaissance pavilion of the 1929 Ibero-American Exposition held in the Maria Luisa Park. It is now Andalusia`s museum of archaeology and the collection includes the Carambolo 6th Century gold jewellery found near Seville in the 1950s. Some of the rooms are devoted to the Roman period, and mosaics are on display as well as many pieces of sculpture, including those of emperors Trajan and Hadrian. Other rooms contain artefacts from Moorish Spain.
