The Basilica de Vega del Mar consists of the remains of a Vvisigothic Christian basilica which dates back to the 6th Century. On the site it is possible to see the foundations of the three naved church which is surrounded by a graveyard containing about 200 tombs from the late Roman and Visigothic periods. There is a baptismal font which is over three feet deep. Some of the site`s treasures are in the Archaeology Museum in Madrid.
