The Beach of El Medano is considered one of the best beaches on Tenerife Island. Its light coloured sands stretch for about two miles, but are often too windy for sunbathing. The beach is popular with windsurfers. Near the coast are interesting hills, including the 600 foot high Montana Roja, a nature reserve. From here you can reach another windy beach, the Playa de la Tegita.
