San Jose has a wide, sandy, sheltered beach which is popular with families. The seaside resort was once a fishing village and there is a marina and an esplanade with palm trees. You will also find several good seafood restaurants. A short walk south-west leads to Playa de los Genoveses, a sandy beach in a horseshoe shaped bay which is overlooked by a windmill. From here a longer walk leads to the wild Playa de Monsul.
