Son Bou has a magnificent, sandy beach that is almost two miles long and it is the longest beach on Menorca Island. Swimming is generally safe but there are occasionally dangerous currents. There are beach bars and equipment such as windsurfing boards, pedalos and sunbeds can be hired. At the eastern end is a 5th Century basilica which lay beneath the sand until it was discovered in 1953. Above, on the cliffs, are prehistoric caves.
