Can Leandro was one of the first houses to be built outside the medieval, walled village at Tossa De Mar. It was built in the early 16th Century and, at that time, there were no houses between Can Leandro and the beach. It was highly visible to pirates who frequently raided the coast and the house was fortified with a machicolation above the round doorway. The house has lovely Gothic windows decorated with sculpted angels.
