The massive Castillo de Santiago in San Lucar de Barrameda was built in the 15th Century in the city walls. The Christian Monarchs Fernando and Isabel stayed here when they visited the town. This is now the old quarter and nearby are the buildings of sherry producers. The castle has been restored as a cultural centre and great views can be enjoyed from its towers.
