The Cathedral of San Pedro was built in the 16th Century and has a Plateresque facade. It was constructed on the foundations of a 12th Century building of which the cloister remains. Dating from the early 12th Century and made of ashlar stone, the cloister is a designated National Monument. There are three sections of Romanesque arches containing columns with carefully restored capitals depicting historical and allegorical scenes from the east. In the walls are niches where the monks were buried.
