The Iglesia de Nuestra Senora de la Concepcion, Tenerife`s oldest church, was founded in 1502. Originally Gothic, this impressive church has been changed over the years and is now a mixture of styles. There is a 16th Century baptism pool where the Guanche people were baptised. The church has three naves, a beautifully carved wooden ceiling and splendid carvings on the 18th Century pulpit and the choir stalls. There is also some beautiful metalwork.
