The Church of Santo Domingo is the city`s most beautiful church. A National Monument, it was built in the late 12th Century and is known for its imposing Romanesque facade. Carvings on the portal depict rich details such as scenes from chapters in Genesis and Christ`s childhood and later life. Other features are the blind arcades and a large rose window. The facade is said to be one of the finest examples of the Romanesque style in Spain.
