Coca Castle is a striking example of a Gothic and Mudejar style castle. It was built in the 15th Century by Moorish craftsmen for the powerful Fonseca family and it was used as a residential palace. The pink brick fortress with its massive keep, towers and turrets is surrounded by a deep moat. The chapel has Romanesque wood carvings. Much of the interior`s decoration was removed in the 19th Century.
