The Convent of Santa Paula dates from 1475 and it is one of the most beautiful in Seville. The church has a splendid doorway in a mixture of styles, with a Gothic arch, Mudejar brickwork and ceramics by an Italian artist. Inside, the nave is covered by a magnificent early 17th Century wooden roof and in the chancel are Gothic frescoes. The church houses a number of paintings and sculptures, including St John the Baptist by Juan Martinez Montanes.
